Intellectual Property is Funny…well…That’s China

Last year, I agreed to write an article, for 1,000 Yuan, in English about my Chinese acting career for a magazine called That’s China. I sent them the article; they wrote me back and told me they wanted a different ending. I thought the ending was fine, and I was tired of dealing with them, so with the help of my fellow teacher, Greg Kummery, I sent them back a bunch of over-the top endings just to show them that I am cool. They never contacted me again, and they never sent me the money. After I got home from China , I Googled (I’m a pathetic, pathetic man) my name and found this at That’s China – but I’m still waiting on my 1,000 Yuan. Now several websites have in turn plagiarized it from them. They are found here and here and here and here and here (scroll down) and here. Some of them do mention they got it from That’s China. That’s fine. They paid me as much as That’s China and have just as much right to publish it as That’s China. Also, they kept the original ending. Notice the sweet photography, and enjoy the good read (I actually plagiarized most of the article from my own website because I’m lazy).
